The Landhuis Rhijnauwen is located on a beautiful estate near Bunnik, just east of Utrecht. The Kromme Rijn river flows peacefully through the landscape here. Together with the extensive forests, beautiful avenues and well-maintained lawns, this park-like setting is the ideal location for children to have a wonderful time. Country house Rhijnauwen has its origins in 1220 and after a rich history, the country house was given the function of a youth hostel in 1933, the first in the Netherlands.

The Junior Camp especially for children from group 7 & 8 of elementary school. Five days of summer camp entirely in English on the beautiful estate Rhijnauwen. Junior Camp is the fun and educational way to prepare for a good start with English in secondary school.

The program and classes during the summer camp at Rhijnauwen

Junior Camp's program is tailored to each age group.

The lessons during Junior Camp are aimed at making the children feel comfortable using the English language. On the last afternoon, Junior Camp concludes festively. The children welcome you to high tea.

During the graduation ceremony, all children will receive their Junior Camp certificate.

Suitable for children ages 4 and up. School grade 1 through 7 (school year 2024-2025).
Junior Camp:
Suitable for school grade 7 and 8 (school year 2023-2024). International School Year 5 and 6.
Teen Camp: To the website
Suitable for children in high school, up to age 17.

Interaction

Communication & presentation

All focus on communication in English. The language of instruction is all English, and we also help participants speak English among themselves as much as possible. Gaining confidence in using English is paramount. Mistakes are allowed in abundance, that is the beginning of improvement!

English Class

Grammar & vocabulary

Each day, 4 hours are spent on grammar and vocabulary. Specific parts of English grammar are highlighted. Our specialized teachers explain everything in detail. Within the small groups there is extra space for individual explanations.

Move

Sports & Activities

The entire afternoon program consists of sports, fun, relaxation and team building. The activities focus mainly on cooperation and mutual communication. In addition, physical exercise is, of course, also very healthy. During the activities, communication is entirely in English.

Evening program

After dinner, there is mostly time for relaxation. Chilling with the other participants around the mansion. Have another ball on one of the fields. Interactive games are played, movies are watched and, of course, there is a bon voyage evening.

This week my 2 kids went to Junior Camp. Great location and great teachers. The kids enjoyed and enjoyed learning better English in a thematic way. They want to go again next year!

It was such s great experience for my daughter Ipek. She enjoyed every day the activities. Her english improved a lot. This program is nice as it teaches while let the kids play and enjoy.

Really very nice. We spoke English all the time. And you get very nice help when you don't know and everyone is very nice. I made very nice friends. And we did a lot of fun activities!

I thought it was really super super super super fun. After several years of summer camp, finally going to junior camp. What a cool experience. Learning, fun, sociability is paramount here.

This was my 3rd time at English camp and for the first time 5 days at Junior camp. It was really great. The food was super delicious, the leadership was very sweet, made a lot of new friends and I learned a lot of English this week. I am really sorry that it is already over, because I would love to stay a little longer. I will definitely come again next year!
