Junior Camp is the summer camp for children in grades 7 and 8 who want to improve their English in a playful way. No boring lessons, but learning in a way that is fun, active, and motivating. With our years of experience with Summer Camp and Teen Camp, we know exactly how to perfectly combine learning and fun.
At the beautiful Rhijnauwen Estate, children come together for a week full of new words, self-confidence, and fun. In the morning, we work seriously but enthusiastically on English, always in an interactive and positive way. In the afternoon, there is plenty of time to relax, play sports, work together on group assignments, and be creative. Junior Camp gives your son or daughter a real boost in English, while creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Monday is arrival day. It's time to meet the other participants, settle into your room, and explore the country house. You'll meet the Junior Camp team, and together we'll go over the weekly schedule. It may take some getting used to, but from that moment on, everything will be in English.
Every day, there are two two-hour lessons on the program. In the first lesson, we work on grammar and vocabulary. The second lesson focuses on interaction, with attention to conversation, pronunciation, and presentation. In the afternoon, it's time for relaxation and fun, with sports, creative activities, canoeing on the Kromme Rijn, and plenty of space to relax. In the evening, we take it easy with interactive games, a movie night, and of course the Bonte Avond.
On Friday, after classes, the participants will prepare the snacks for the High Tea themselves. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend the Graduation Ceremony and High Tea at 2:30 p.m. that day. From the moment of arrival at Landgoed Rhijnauwen until the Graduation Ceremony at the end of the week, it will be completely English Time.

On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the schedule looks slightly different.
For many participants, canoeing on the Kromme Rijn is the highlight of the week. Depending on the weather, we do this on Tuesday or Wednesday. After lunch, we get into the canoes and paddle down the river together. Along the way, we stop for a picnic, to relax and, if the weather is really nice, to take a refreshing dip in the Kromme Rijn.
At the end of the afternoon, we sail back to Rhijnauwen, where dinner is already waiting for us. Time to relax together and enjoy a delicious, well-deserved meal.
The Landhuis Rhijnauwen is located on a beautiful estate near Bunnik, just east of Utrecht. The Kromme Rijn river flows peacefully through the landscape here. Together with the extensive forests, beautiful avenues and well-maintained lawns, this park-like setting is the ideal location for children to have a wonderful time. Country house Rhijnauwen has its origins in 1220 and after a rich history, the country house was given the function of a youth hostel in 1933, the first in the Netherlands.
The supervision at Junior Camp consists of carefully selected and trained teachers from Pro English. They all have their own backgrounds, but share one thing in common: a great passion for teaching and supervising young people. Naturally, all teachers are in possession of a valid Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).
Our teachers are trained through the Pro English Academy and work according to established protocols. In addition, all teachers at Junior Camp are trained in first aid and have signed a Child Protection Policy and Privacy Policy. This ensures a safe, professional, and trusted environment.
